Going Casual with the Foo Fighters

Necklaces: Urban Outfitters
Jacket: Topshop
Top: Topshop
Shorts: Topshop
Socks: Topshop
Shoes: Dr Martens

Now that the sunshine has finally arrived in Britain, I thought it was about time I did another summer look. So I ditched the jeans and fished out some shorts instead. I found some old denim cut offs in the depths of my drawers and couldn't resist fishing out some knee highs as well - they are the perfect match and you'll be proud to see that they aren't black (it's usually all I wear). In fact nothing but my jacket and choker and shoes are black which is good for me.

I knew I wanted to drive this look forward with a band shirt - I haven't done nearly enough band shirt posts and I've got so many to show you. In the end I went with my favourite Foo Fighters top. It's baggy and the material is so light that it's perfect for wearing in the heat. I also really love the cut off sleeve effect, it creates a distinctive grungy appeal and let's be honest, it's great that brands are cutting them off for you nowadays.

I accessorized with a layering of a necklace and a choker which contrast one another, I added some Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick and pinned my hair up on each side. These are all simple things but I think they really bring the outfit and overall look together. It's little touches like these that can make a huge difference to your look.

Oh and of course some classic black DMs. If you're lucky enough to live in a country of hotter climate, this may be too hot for you during summer. The best part is that there's so many footwear options you could wear this with, it's limitless.

The funny thing about this week's post is that I had no idea virtually all of my outfit is from Topshop. If you look hard enough, you'll actually find that some of their clothing makes for a great alternative outfit. My guess is that they brought out this amazing Foo Fighters tee because of Glastonbury festival. Did you guys go this year? I went to Download, it was incredible!

Anyway, I hope you like this look. I think it's one of my favourites I've posted so far and it's definitely the most versatile - you can wear it almost anywhere.
