For the Love of Leather

Tee: Social Decay
Skirt: H&M
Socks: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop

My focus for this week's blog was to create a summer look that involves leather. Evidently this task was a difficult one, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that leather and heat is a match made in hell. Over the years I, for one, have become far too aware of this. Finally though, I've managed to create something magical and I've actually incorporated leather into a summer outfit that I can't get enough of.

This all comes down to one of my favourite clothing brands, Social Decay. This week I'm wearing their 'Crafty Bitch' tee; it has such a flowing material, is comfortable to wear and goes absolutely perfectly with my leather skater skirt. I also love the little crescent moon and the simplistic, less is more, script which has a few hidden symbols - can you spot them?

Although this is a crop top, my skirt is high waisted so I simply tucked it into the skirt (it also acted as a leather on skin protector which is an ideal scenario for when the sun comes out to play). I fell in love with this skirt when I saw it on a mannequin - I didn't think twice about leaving the shop without it. I knew it would be a great piece to blog about.

When I shot these pictures a few days ago the sun was blazing so I added some sunglasses to the look; I never usually wear them - but now I'm driving, I had no choice but to find a pair so that's exactly what I did and I love them!

I wore some standard black knee highs and some chunky books as per usual. I also had my hair dyed earlier this week and I'm loving this colour! I've never had such red hair and that's just how I intend to keep it!

So I hope you guys like this look, it's definitely a winner in my book - wait.. I just unintentionally rhymed?! Anyway don't forget that leather can be worn in the summer and if you look hard enough you'll find the perfect piece of clothing that will prove this blog post to be right.
