Skulls and Flowers

During a recent shopping spree in Derby (the home of Download festival), I came across this gorgeous dress. As you may already be aware, I have a fair few Iron Fist pieces already so this dress instantly jumped out at me.

Welcome to my new floral addition.

I love the pattern because it embodies the classic Iron Fist print (half a skeleton) and remains as alternative as every floral dress should be. Notice the tiny skull buds at the end of each branch, it's such a unique effect which, once focussed on, quickly comes to life. There really isn't anything quite like this dress.

The strappy back is left to our own imagination as you can tie any way you wish. If you want a high neckline or a deep neckline you can (if only every top/dress had this feature)! and in my case I opted for a cross over back with a standard neckline.

Because this dress is so dainty, I decided to compliment it with a classic 1950's up do. I'm a huge fan of bandanas and this simple black one makes the perfect companion.

I hope you like this summer look and now have faith that alternative summer dresses do in fact exist.
