Christmas Beauty Haul | NYE Eye Make Up

I hope you all had a magical Christmas and with New Years around the corner, there's no time like the present to share my Christmas beauty haul and the perfect NYE eye make up. I was rather spoilt this Christmas (as I hope you all were) and received so many goodies which as soon as I opened, I simply couldn't wait to blog about.

Happy Blogmas

It's Christmas Eve! And as tomorrow will be my first 'blogmas', I've decided to post something special this week. For this one of a kind blog post, I decided to incorporate both fashion and make up into one single look. (All Christmas inspired of course).

Christmas in Belgium

Hat: Topshop | Coat: New Look | Jeans: Topshop | Shoes: Dr Martens

It's just 12 days until Christmas which calls for another seasonal post and this week I took a trip to Brussels, Belgium which is the home of Christmas (and beer). And as soon as I saw the amazing gothic architecture in the city, I couldn't wait to shoot a blog post.

December Wishlist

Did you all open your advent calendars this morning? To mark the month of December I have decided to create my first wishlist; and Christmas is the ideal season to start. In fact, I may as well call this my Christmas list.

Let's Go Murphys

Jacket: Topshop | Top: Unknown | Necklaces: Urban Outfitters | Belt: Attitude Clothing | Leggings: River Island | Shoes: Unknown
This week I've been inspired by the Dropkick Murphys and the DIY band shirt I made earlier this year. Before I got my hands on it, this tee was 10 times too big and although I could have done it much more justice, I really like the outcome.

Boohoo Haul

Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: TUK

I recently went on a boohoo shopping spree and struck gold, as a result, I've decided to publish my first ever haul this week. I bought 3 amazing pieces of clothing, fell in love with them and have incorporated them into 1 singular outfit to showcase them to you.

Paranormal Prints

Top: Newlook | Skirt: Iron Fist | Tights: Primark | Shoes: Dr Martens

I put this outfit together back in the summer and I've been waiting for a rainy day (literally) to share it with you guys. And this gloomy Friday evening is as good as any. In the midst of this freezing cold weather, I thought it was about time I posted some form of escapism to take us all back to the summer; admit it, it's where we all want to be. And this outfit is the ideal getaway.

Throwback

Harrington Jacket: Birthday Gift | Top: Newlook | Jeans: Topshop | Shoes: Dr Martens

This week I've taken a leaf out of my Mother's youth. My taste in fashion is forever growing  and this week, while putting this outfit together, I realised something; I have become a figure of my Mother's past. A Harrington and a classic pair DM's were not only part of her fashion sense in the early 80's, but they are now mine too.

My Top 3 Red Lipsticks

Red is without doubt one of my favourite colours to wear, particularly a red lip. I love how a simple lipstick can instantly brighten up both my make up and outfit; I always use lipstick to add colour into my typical dark looks. This has led me to write something a little different this week. Recently I've decided to do more make up posts and today I wanted to focus on my favourite products.

Dismal Land

Dress: Lipsy | Boots: Topshop | Choker: Urban Outfitters | Bat Necklace: Sharon Dusk

This week I was one of the lucky people who walked through Dismal Land's doors and of course I took the opportunity to shoot some blog pictures. But first, I want to give you my review of Dismal Land - the name itself is a cryptic word play on Disney Land and tell us more than what meets the eye. From a distance Dismal Land looks incredible, filling you with curiosity and yet when your inside, that once incredible view turns into something a lot more meaningful. I instantly fell in love with the art I was surrounded by, but I fell head over heels for the messages they convey.

This Summer

Jacket: Topshop
Top: Miss Selfridge
Shorts: New Look
Shoes: Iron Fist

I just want to say sorry for not posting much content recently - I've been working a lot on the behind the scenes stuff on my blog. And finally the launch is here! I've actually really enjoyed learning HTML codes, CSS and Photoshop amongst many other things. It's definitely been a huge learning experience.

Kat Von D Inspired Make Up

It's been a while since I've published a make up post so here's one of my absolute favourite looks. It took a bit more concentration than normal, but at the end of the day, doesn't winged eyeliner always require 100% attention? This make up from my eyes, my blusher and to my lips, is entirely inspired by Kat Von D. I've been watching Miami and LA ink for as long as I can remember and I've always admired Kat's make up, so when she brought out a make up line I was over the moon. Then the tutorials and the make up inspiration came flooding in through my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and that's when this certain eyeliner look caught my eye.

Witching Hour

Hat: H&M
Top: Amazon
Skirt: Disturbia
Shoes: Topshop

As the sun is finally back, today I took a trip down to Weston-Super-Mare. I thought it would make a great background for a blog shoot and I wasn't wrong. I really love the juxtaposition between the sunshine and my dark, witchy look.

The Trick of Tartan

Top: Topshop
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Dr Martens

The trick of tartan is simple really, just pair your favourite piece of tartan clothing with a classic pair of Dr Martens - there's no better match. This combination goes way back to the 70's where punks and skinheads made this look a reality! I will be forever grateful to this era as this is something I always wear.

For the Love of Leather

Tee: Social Decay
Skirt: H&M
Socks: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop

My focus for this week's blog was to create a summer look that involves leather. Evidently this task was a difficult one, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that leather and heat is a match made in hell. Over the years I, for one, have become far too aware of this. Finally though, I've managed to create something magical and I've actually incorporated leather into a summer outfit that I can't get enough of.

Playing with Pentagrams

Dress: Kates Clothing
Lipstick: Kat Von D
Tights: Blue Banana
Shoes: Topshop

For  a while now I have admired this dress from afar and by afar I mean, online at Kates Clothing, so this dress was definitely a must have for my blog. Everything about this dress is the epitome of why  love alternative fashion; the intricate cut, the occult print and the dress as a whole is something of a rare combination and a great find. Hats off to Rat Baby for designing such a gorgeous piece of clothing.

Going Casual with the Foo Fighters

Necklaces: Urban Outfitters
Jacket: Topshop
Top: Topshop
Shorts: Topshop
Socks: Topshop
Shoes: Dr Martens

Now that the sunshine has finally arrived in Britain, I thought it was about time I did another summer look. So I ditched the jeans and fished out some shorts instead. I found some old denim cut offs in the depths of my drawers and couldn't resist fishing out some knee highs as well - they are the perfect match and you'll be proud to see that they aren't black (it's usually all I wear). In fact nothing but my jacket and choker and shoes are black which is good for me.

Summer Knitwear

Dress: Urban Outfitters
Necklaces: Urban Outfitters
Bikini Top: Newlook
Leggings: River Island
Boots: Primark

As you all know, this week has been a scorching one. So I think it's about time I introduced some summer knitwear and believe it or not this does exist. Earlier this week I bought this gorgeous knitted dress which is as light as a feather and perfect for this heat. As soon as I tried it on in the fitting room of Urban Outfitters, I knew it was a piece of clothing I had to blog about.

Inspirational Tees

Top: Disturbia
Choker: Topshop
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Septum Ring: Regal Rose
Shorts: Newlook
Tights: Blue Banana
Boots: Topshop

When it comes to novelty tees, they typically fail to spark my interest. For years now, all I've owned is band shirts, that was until I bought this tee. The words itself "Don't let the bastards grind you down" is one of the few quotes I like it live by and is ironically very fitting at this point in my life. I read this quote and instantly felt inspired and I want all of my readers to feel the same.

Skulls and Flowers

During a recent shopping spree in Derby (the home of Download festival), I came across this gorgeous dress. As you may already be aware, I have a fair few Iron Fist pieces already so this dress instantly jumped out at me.

My Casual Attire

For this weeks post I decided to simply show you what kind of thing I wear every day. It's nothing special but definitely on a need-to-know basis - finding an everyday outfit can be a nightmare. Usually people go for jeans on a casual occasion but an even comfier option is leggings - there's no denying it. My favourite pair are these slash leggings! They hit everything on my tick list: 1. They're black 2. They're unique 3. They go with everything.

The Luxury of Lace

Lace is a pretty big part of alternative fashion in my eyes. I love it! The pattern has travelled all through time and has found a place in my wardrobe. I've been waiting to do a post about this outfit for a while now and I'm really excited to share this with you all!

The Harness Effect

I've never been more excited about writing a blog post until I put this outfit together. For as long as I can remember I've been on a mission to find the most amazing harness top. I've finally found the one. As you know from my post a few weeks ago, I have a thing for Intricate Straps which has managed to creep into this post as well.

80's Glamour

The 80's to me, is at the pinnacle of 'vintage' fashion. It was the era of leather, fishnets, metallics and skin tight leggings - all of which I wear in a continuous weekly loop. Of course though, my view of the 80's isn't the mainstream view, I'm talking about the metal and rock version of the era. In fact, now I think about it, my wardrobe is virtually a collection of 80's throwbacks and because time travel is out of the question, my wardrobe and a Motley Crue album will always suffice.

The DIY Band Shirt

I think it's time I admit that my wardrobe is full of band shirts, old and new. I see this as good thing or at least I did, until I realised it would soon be all I have to blog about. But luckily I've got a lot more than band shirts up my sleeve, in the meantime I bring you another post about yet another tee. This time, I've decided to enlighten you guys about the DIY approach.

Dark Florals

I know it's a day late but Happy Easter!
This year, the spring holiday has lead me to go outside of my comfort zone. I'm not usually into wearing florals, let alone pink florals but I've added my comforts (a leather jacket and some black heels) and now this dress is something I couldn't wait to show off. I bought this slip dress last summer - I'm always trying to find the perfect occasion to wear it and there's no better to time to go floral than Easter weekend.

Intricate Straps

My latest fashion infatuation is, can you guess? Straps.. and this maxi dress is the perfect example of why. The neckline, a simple v-next is brought to life by an overlapping of straps which draws your attention to the cut of the dress.

Going Grunge

As a 90's grunge fan, it was only a matter of time before I turned the genre into a form of fashion inspiration. I'm a believer of music being a huge factor in the way we dress. For this post I could of easily gone for the cliché Nirvana tribute t-shirt, but I decided to go back to it's roots.

Extreme Eyes

Eyeshadow: LaRoc/Mua/Stargazer
Mascara: Maybelline
Eyeliner: Barry M

This week I thought another make-up post would be interesting. I love improvising with different colours and textures and the amount of looks you can create is endless (which means only more and more make-up posts to come). Make-up is not as restricting as fashion can be which means I can let my imagination run wild, whether that's a good thing or bad thing.

So here's a little sneak peak into my imagination.

The Casual Corset

Meet my Hearts and Roses coat. I thought this coat deserved it's own post, it's got so much detail and I've never come across anything like it. When I wear this coat I have the compulsion to let my gothic side take over and of course, you can only embrace it.

Dare to Bare

This week brings my backless playsuit. I've never been a huge fan of the playsuit, it's just a one piece dress and shorts combo which usually looks randomly put together but this caught my eye. I bought it around the Christmas months but instead of stashing it away with my bundle of Christmas jumpers, I choose to keep it around.

How to Conquer Layering

As it's the middle on winter and all, I thought it would be helpful to write a post about the concept of layering. I'm actually wearing 4 layers - believe it or not! The first layer is simply a little crop top, over that is one of my favourite fringed pieces (both black of course). I then put a simple black hoodie on top which is always handy when covering up from the rain. And finally, the newest edition to my wardrobe - the denim jacket.

Textured Monochrome

After buying this dress, I knew it would at the pinnacle of my next post. It's checkered for one and regardless of the fact that it's a bodycon dress - it fits like a glove. Due to it's light material it acts almost as a second skin, always moving with you, and yet it's not light enough to be transparent. On that note I have a little tip... always look out for thin clothing before it catches you out - specifically leggings!

Make-up For The Adventurous

This post is a bit of a random one... I wanted to something creative and fun and I think this hits the spot. I believe fashion and make-up go hand in hand and nothing can be too extreme in my book. I love experimenting with make-up as much as I do with clothes, as this post reveals. So I thought I'd share the outcome of my favourite outbursts of improvisation.

Velvet Worn My Way

This look is the outcome of my compulsion to shop the January sales. Velvet has definitely been a missing factor in my life and this outfit finally balances out my wardrobe. The moment I saw these high-waisted shorts, I fell head over heels with them! They're vintage yet current and not to mention pretty beyond belief. The lace underlined detail is a match made in heaven against the red/pink velvet.

New Year New Festivals

It's early I know, but this year the festival line ups are already looking AMAZING. With that in mind I've constructed one of many festival outfits to come. First things first, shoes. I have found the most perfect pair for the festival season, Dr Martens. But these aren't just any dm's, they are completely waterproof and according to the label, "comfortable and stylish, this is the only boot you'll ever need for the moshpit and the mud". Too good to be true right?

Gingham Galore

While I was pondering on what was going to be my first official blog post I realised, while looking through pretty much everything I own, that I have a lot of black and white gingham pieces - all I'm missing is a pair of shoes and my collection would be complete.

Introduction

Hi,
welcome to my little 'fashion blog project'! I've been wanting to do this for a while now - I love writing and my wardrobe is probably the most interesting thing for me to show the world.

I always get comments about my "quirky" style of clothes, hair, make up and everything in between. So inevitably, I thought it could be something great to show you that, actually, there is more to fashion than what most of the high street shows you.

I want to exploit the world of alternative clothing, make up, hairstyles and whatever else I think is worth sharing. Stick around to delve into the wonders (or weirdness) of my wardrobe. Here's a little sneak peak just for you!
